BlogPaws had the honor and privilege of attending and covering the Betty White Friars Club Roast in New York City this past Wednesday, May 16. Betty White’s passion, zest, and lifelong advocacy for animals made us so proud to be there.

We interviewed the famous celebri-dog, Uggie, and his owner/trainer, Omar Von Muller. Uggie was rescued from being sent to a pound and here at BlogPaws, we celebrate, wag, and raise our sparkling water glass to Omar! He is famous for his roles in the box office movies Water for Elephants and The Artist. Uggie has retired but came out of retirement for this very special event, so BlogPaws has an inside scoop on this canine star and his owner.

Salt Lake City Downtown Awaits BlogPaws!

Are you counting down the days until BlogPaws 2012? We sure are! We can't wait for June to share some of Salt Lake City with you, so here is just a little taste of what you can expect to see downtown.

City Creek Center is a must see, even if you aren't interested in shopping at Tiffany's and other high end shops, or eating at The Cheesecake Factory, the building alone is an amazing space to hang out with friends. You can sit back and enjoy the fountain show, or walk along the creek that runs down the shopping center.

50 Things to Write About After BlogPaws

You have the ticket booked, the reservations are made, and you are about to attend one of the most powerful social media conferences in the nation for pet bloggers, writers, brands, microbloggers, and more. You want to be able to bring something back to your readers, but not sure what, where to start, and what would be interesting to your readers. As any good blogger/reporter knows, preparation is key (even if you aren't attending and/or are live streaming with us, these are handy writing prompts).

The fourth annual BlogPaws conference is taking place June 21 – June 23, 2012, in Salt Lake City, Utah. About 500 pet bloggers, brands, journalists, writers, industry experts, (and many of them bringing their pets) will be in Salt Lake City in, many for a week or more. While you are listening to seminars, learning, talking to brands, and networking, keep a tablet handy and jot down ideas for blog posts.

Your brand reflects you. As bloggers, what we write, share, disseminate, and promote says a lot about character, our opinions, and who we are.  BlogPaws 2012 (taking place just over a month) in Salt Lake City will be home to a Breakout Session in the Veterinary World that EVERYONE is welcome to attend, not just vets. In fact, we encourage pet parents to attend these veterinary breakout sessions to learn, network, and grow.

As a brand (and that is indeed what a blog is: a brand), Patrick Mahaney, VMD, and Dr. Janice Elenbaas will lead the session, “Five Steps to Building Your Brand as a Reflection of Your Principles.” Easier said than done, so these two pros will share first-hand knowledge and experience on this timely and important topic.  What can attendees expect to learn?
