Please welcome Robby, the All Things Dog Blog family rabbit. He’s our spokesmodel for this Easter Adoptathon. We are excited to host you at our site for another fun day of photo blog hopping.
We hope you’ll enjoy helping us find new furever homes for some of Robby’s homeless bunny cousins during this particularly busy bunny-adoption season. Our task—get the word out about adoptable rabbits through Petfinder. Here’s how:
Who: All bloggers
What: Share adoptable rabbits from Petfinder’s site, highlighting info you feel may be helpful in getting them a second look.
Where: http://www.AllThingsDogBlog.com
When: Saturday, April 16, 2011 (starting at 12:00 AM and ending at midnight Saturday night)
Why: To help rabbits find furever families
How: Through the http://www.Petfinder.com adoptable pet search function
Now we’re coming down to the wire—the busiest time of year for rabbit adoptions. In order to help more bunnies find permanent homes, we’re asking you to help by letting your readers know what’s available. If lots of us participate, there will be more interest and therefore more adoptions. Let’s show the folks at Petfinder what pet bloggers can do when we team up to make something happen!
Now I’ll get back to the “How.” Here are a few tips:
- Since we know we can’t highlight every rabbit we find on the Petfinder system, choose those that have a great photo. Images sell!
- Tell the story. That’s what you all do best, so work it, baby! Emotion will evoke action.
- Have fun with geography. Pick a single location or lots of locations; just be certain you indicate the areas clearly for your readers.
- Educate your readers on the joys of rabbit ownership, as well as the reasons their home may not be the right place for a bunny. Need more info? I’ve included some rabbit ownership info and tips on my Help Page.
- Not sure how Petfinder works? Check my Help Page for instructions on using their system.
- Be sure to join the linky list after you post. If you’ve never joined a photo blog hop before, visit my Easter Rabbit Adoptathon Help Page for instructions. I’ll post the code there for those of you on Wordpress.com, as well.
- Harness the power of your social networking to get more readers and bloggers to join us on April 16. You can find me on Facebook and Twitter also.
- Finally, grab the badge and post it in your sidebar now. Include it in your post to tell your readers what’s going on.
More questions? Drop me an email at LetsAdoptaDogPark@gmail.com. Happy hopping!
