Boy, I wish I'd been more prepared when my Henry got sick. We were in a new town and I had NO idea about a vet. The one in our town wasn't able (or wouldn't?) fit me in even though Henry was deathly ill. I found another vet, about a 40 minute drive away, who could. But, it was a harrowing experience, to say the least. Henry made it, thankfully. I know now, I need to find out this info before it becomes a dire need! (And we still take the cats to the farther away vet since they saved Henry's life!) :)

What a great post! Last weekend, I actually drove to the closest emergency vet just to see how long it would take to get there and which was the best route. Thanks for the tips!

Hi Y'all,

That is a great post. My Humans know where the emergency vets are, but they are so far from either place we spend time I know I better not get hurt beyond the first aid kit kind of hurt...that's the problem with rural life, nothings close.

The Humans take a pad and pen to their own doctors appts. For mine or their appts, my Humans usually write things they want to ask the doctor. I notice my Human Momma writes notes on what her vet tells her. The new young vet usually writes out stuff herself when medications will be involved.

Merry Christmas y'all!

These are really good tips! I will definitely take note.
