24hr Paint-a-thon with BZ-TAT

We find that pet bloggers are among the most creative and inspirational people on the web. And, no one is more inspirational than our own BZTAT, who created the outstanding mural at BlogPaws West - with help from all the attendees. {here she is in action - if you were there, you know how fab the final result was; if you weren't there... oh well}

Over the next 24 hours, BZTAT will astound the web (and the world - this, of course, is our opinion) with a 24-hour Paint-a-thon. What's Paint-a-thon? It's an event. It's a way to draw attention. It's something that sounds easy, but isn't.

To quote from BZTAT Studios, "I have done Paint-a-thons before, but only for 12 hours. This will be my first 24 hour stint. This time I am painting along with 9 bloggers who will be blogging for 24 hours as  well, all of whom are raising funds for various animal charities. Thanks to Dr. V of Pawcurious for inspiring the entire event."

Now...where have we heard the name of Dr. V being bandied about recently? (hint: on this blog...just this week!)

Not only is this exciting because it's a combination Paint-a-thon/blog-a-thon, but BZTAT will be at Embrace Pet Insurance offices using that as her studio. In fact, she'll have a new BZTAT Studio there, where she will be creating a pet themed art gallery. (If I have that wrong, BZTAT, please correct in the comments). At any rate, we <3 Laura from Embrace for giving BZTAT the art space. W00t!

Naturally, because this is BZTAT, half of the proceeds from this Paint-a-thon will be donated to Healing Paws Dialogue, an art project that she will be doing for the Pet Patrol therapy program at Mercy Medical Center. This is in Canton, OH and bring artistic youth together with the Pet Patrol pet therapy program - a combination we'd like to see more of.

Additionally, the other half of BZTAT's proceed will go to a charity chosen by Embrace Pet Insurance staff. Everyone who reads this - please follow the progress via Twitter and twitpic and check out Facebook. The hashtag is #bztatptg and #blogathon.
