On Monday, we shared some tips on how to create a blog post that will get you attention. One of the reasons for having a blog is to attract attention. But, sometimes, we experience writer's block. Or, we aren't sure the topic or information we want to write will be worth it to our readers. Don't forget that a picture is worth a thousand words - I could write a whole essay on this picture, could you?
These tips are just a few suggestions to help you when you're stumbling along and can't figure out what to write today. Only you can actually decide whether your writing is useful, interesting, and attractive to your readers. You do this by watching your day to day traffic, and paying attention to those posts that bring in comments.
Now...on to the last 6 Tips on How to Create a Blog Post People Will Notice: (no one caught my math error on Monday... I only did 4 tips...not 5! )
6. Support other bloggers. When you "partner" with other bloggers to support their work and have them support yours, you widen your reach and create friendships. Friends like to support friends, right? Look for bloggers that compliment your writing and style, or that add more expertise to your work. And, always credit them when you quote from their work.
7. Quote well-known experts in your industry. Every industry has experts and most have dozens of experts, some that your readers may know, some they may not. Often, experts are more deeply involved in the specifics of your focus and may offer insights you haven't thought of. Or, they may have an opposing
view. Always link back to them, credit them, and thank them. They may stop by and comment.
8. Create content that is totally yours. Think in "letter to the editor" mode. Write to a celebrity... I once wrote about a major marketing director and she stopped by to comment on my blog. We became friends and have remained so to this day. I may ask her to guest post on my blog, in the future.
9. Use video. Make it worthwhile -humorous, educational, factual, informative, provocative. Video can be found on YouTube, or you can make your own. Your own is always best. After all, people want to get to know the real you.
10. Pay attention to the posts on twitter and Facebook. You will find a wealth of useful information in tweets and FB posts. People will ask questions which you may be able to answer, they'll promote a product, service or event that you may want to share, and they'll give advice on topics that may spark your creativity.
Writing content every day can definitely be challenging so it's best to vary your content length - don't always think you have to create 500 word posts. You can create two sentences and be very effective - if you've linked to powerful content or another blogger with a great post to share. Prepare your topic list ahead of time - two weeks of topic titles or thoughts on what to write, will help you stay on track and not sit in front of your keyboard wondering what to do.
And, if you truly don't have anything to say...don't say anything. A day or two without posting is not a crime. It may help you refresh and focus on why you started your blog.

Great advice! I think your tip on facebook/twitter is spot on.
