<drumroll> and NOW- some of the speakers you will meet on the BlogPaws panels! To start us off, author, journalist, and blogger, Michele C. Hollow...
1) Tell us your name, your blog, what it's about and why you do it.
Hi, I'm Michele C. Hollow and my blog, Pet News and Views is for people who love their pets. I blog about pet care, animal welfare, pet behaviors, and people who work with and help animals.
2) How is your expertise relevant to the pet people attending BlogPaws? (Is this your first blogging conference?)
I'm a member and committee chair at ASJA (American Society of Journalists and Authors), and have attended their conferences which cover electronic journalism. I'm also the co-founder of Professionals in Media, which hosts bimonthly seminars on all forms of researching and writing stories, finding sources, and coming up with new ideas.
I'm going to be part of the "Building You Blogging Strategy" panel at BlogPaws™. I will talk about setting goals, developing content, finding your voice, and reaching and building your audience. I have 15+ years of experience as a journalist working on print and online. I love sharing journalism tips- like developing, researching, and writing stories, finding sources, and coming up with new ideas.
I have also taken zoology courses and have worked in animal rescue. BlogPaws™ is my first all-blogging conference.
3) How far are you coming - cross the city, cross the state, cross the country? Are you bringing your pet?
I'm coming from NJ. I live in South Orange, NJ which is close to NYC. My cat is staying home with my husband Steven and son, Jordon.
4) Whom do you want to meet most, at BlogPaws?
Sponsors, other bloggers, and fellow animal lovers. I love the fact that there will be pets in attendance, and that this is a pet-friendly crowd.
5) Sign off by telling us what topic your pet would talk about at the conference, if he or she could talk and even wanted to talk.
My cat, Earl Gray, would probably look for a sunny, quiet spot away from the crowds. If he could talk, his topic of choice wold be finding the best places in Columbus for taking naps.
Michele's latest book is, The Everything Guide to Working With Animals. I bet if you bring your copy to BlogPaws™, she'll be happy to sign it for you!
